Mechanism of Action

Antizol is a Potent Inhibitor of Alcohol Dehydrogenase

Antizol treatment may be initiated immediately upon suspicion or documentation of ethylene glycol or methanol poisoning. This can be determined by many factors such as patient history, clinical signs, symptoms and laboratory findings, or measurement of a toxic plasma ethylene glycol or methanol concentration. In addition to antidotal treatment with Antizol, hemodialysis should be considered in some situations. A regional poison control center can provide current treatment recommendations.
